The google chrome browser has been designed in a multi process architecture. This means that its processes work independently from one another.
If there is a particular problem with on of the browser functions, you can sort out that problem without affecting the other functions of the browser. You can do this using the Google Chrome Task manager.

To Open the Google Chrome Task Manager:
Go to the Chrome menu, then put your pointer over ‘tools’ and select task manager.

The chrome task manager shortcut:
You can also right click on an empty space on the tabs bar and select Task manager from the context menu.

The taskbar shows the browser, any open tabs, any running extensions and how they are utilizing system resources like CPU, Memory and network bandwidth.

You can use the task manager in Google Chrome to quickly close browser tabs or extensions that have stopped working or otherwise crashed.
