In this video I cover how to manually patch your xbox 360 games to any title update. While this may seem useless to the vast majority, this can help when reverse engineering games, mods, and general research on a game. This video is purely for educational purposes only! This video mostly covers xbox 360 games that shipped on disc.

As a reminder before doing anything make sure you always have a backup of clean unmodified files. This will save you if anything goes wrong!

Manually patching games to latest tu can /”fix/” some games that have issues when using the actual TU container itself alone when using BadUpdate, however I can not guarantee it to work for all.
A example of a game that has issues with manually patching to latest TU is Spec Ops The Line.

This video does NOT cover extensive xex/dll modifications for actual mod use or modding efforts. It’s purely just to manually patch your game to later tu’s so you yourself can research the game.

TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
If you get errors patching with XexToolGUI make sure the folder the xex and xexp files are in does not have spaces or special characters in the folder name.
This could be problematic if your PC is of a different region/local and basically has a diff language. If this is the case you can try changing your lang on your pc to be english, and revert back when not needed if this ends up being a issue.
Also make sure you have the xex selected in the option called xex, make sure you have the xexp selected in the option called xexp, and lastly make sure you choose a save location for the patched xex, before you click the patch option.

If you get stuck on /”checking files/” with Xbox 360 Game Hack, make sure no .orig files are in the folder with the executables.
If that doesn’t help, then when patching tick devkit instead of retail and click fix, then go delete the .orig files, then go back and tick retail and click fix again. This should fully fix the /”checking files/” issue in most cases. However is not guaranteed.

As a last resort, you can right click the xex, xexp, and go to the properties and see if the file/files show /”Read Only/” ticked, if so untick it. You can also tick Unblock if windows says the file might be blocked when extracted from your game backup/title update files.
