You can double-space all or part of a document. This is basically the space in between the lines of words in a word document. The default document spacing for any blank word document is 1.15.
Double-space the entire document
Open word
Make sure the home tab is selected
In the Styles group, right-click Normal.
Select Modify from the dropdown menu.

Select Modify from the dropdown menu.
Under Formatting, click the Double Space button
OR you can select the page layout tab
Click the down arrow in the bottom right corner next to Paragraph to bring up the Paragraph window.
Under the Indents and Spacing tab, Click the down arrow next to the Line spacing box.
Select Double and click the OK button
To double space a specific part of the document, select it and follow the same steps.
