If your furnace gas valve is not opening or opening but not lighting the gas, this video will show you how you can fix it. I go over the furnace gas valve troubleshooting step by step and explain everything you can do to try to get your gas valve to start working properly again and igniting the gas. The reason I don’t go into gas pressure adjustment is because the gas pressure on a gas valve does not adjust itself. If your furnace randomly stopped working, it is very very unlikely that the gas pressures changed. Those only change when someone was messing with them. I also did not go over checking or testing the gas valve resistance. That is because testing the ohms on a gas valve solenoid is not an accurate way to determine whether a gas valve coil is good or not. It is much more effective to test the voltage going to it instead. If there is power going in but the valve is not opening, then the gas valve is likely bad and should be replaced.
