OK so if you are like me and all of the others that searched for ages trying to figure out how to play certain video files on a Chromebook then I am about to make you happy lol.
I tried VLC for for Chromebook and it was awful. The ratings in the store are awful as well. I finally found a codec support list for the player that comes with it. And found that it does not support the x265 format but does support x264+MP3 wrapped in an MP4 package.
So Just using VLC on Windows 10 I converted the file and had no issues. It plays just fine now.
so YAY lol. I still hate Chromebooks though lol. For my personal use anyway. I am sure they meet many other users needs just fine. But they just do not have all the features I expect a tool to have.
