Have you tried restarting the phone or using a forced restart to see if that helps? To force restart your device, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least ten seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

The Home button is the one and only real button on the front of this iPod. Push it to summon the Home screen, which is your gateway to everything the iPod Touch can do.

Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home button until the screen turns off. Then wait a few seconds for your device to restart. Still need help? Plug your iPod into power, then try again.

Looking at the iPod’s Menus and Screens

1. Slide your finger or thumb clockwise on the Click Wheel to move down a menu or counterclockwise to move up a menu.
2. When you want to use a menu command, highlight it and press the Select button.
3. To move back to a previous screen, press the Menu button.

Follow the onscreen set-up guide to fully activate your new iPod Touch.

1. Select a language.
2. Choose your country or region.
3. Enable Location Services.
4. Connect to a Wi-Fi network.
5. Choose how to set up the iPod.
6. Sign in with your Apple ID.
7. Determine if you want to use iCloud.

To reset the iPod touch, touch and hold the sleep/wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least 15 seconds, ignoring the red Slide to Power Off slider, until the Apple logo appears. After you reset the iPod touch, everything should be back to normal, including your music and data files.

You generally want to press and hold the home button and the other main button on your iPod Touch for at least 10 seconds to force restart the device.

If an iPod has entered the passcode too many times, it locks for a certain number of hours. Each time it happens it locks for longer. Someone entered the passcode so many times that it’s essentially locked forever. You can put it into recovery mode and restore it on a computer using iTunes.

For iPad, iPhone 6s and below, iPhone SE and iPod touch

1. Connect the device to a computer using a USB cable.
2. Hold down both the Home button and Lock button.
3. After 8 seconds, release the Lock button while continuing to hold down the Home button.
4. Nothing will be displayed on the screen when the device is in DFU mode.

Open iTunes. Press and release the Volume Up button and then the Volume Down button. Then, press and hold the Side button until you see the recovery mode screen.

It shouldn’t take more than a few minutes to do the actual restore process, regardless of the size of iPod. In my case it’s usually under a minute.

Entering Android Recovery will never delete everything on the device. But, Android Recovery has an option that enables you to delete everything and reset the device to factory settings.
