Why use a green screen on a Zoom meeting? https://amzn.to/3cmrxF9 In today’s video I talk about why you should use an actual green screen during zoom video calls instead of just pulling up a virtual background.

Virtual backgrounds are great. If you don’t have a home office, or if your office is a bit messy, just pull up a virtual background and you’re all set for your next online meeting.

But the Zoom virtual background feature also has its imperfections:
– you don’t have a clean outline
– if you move around, some parts of you will be missing on-screen, and
– it’s difficult to show other objects on cam because it only detects your face.

If you do Zoom meetings often, I suggest using an actual green screen so your video becomes less distracting and would look more professional. If you use a virtual background without a green screen, you are likely to run into a few problems – and using a real greenscreen is the solution.

How to add a virtual background on zoom (+ bonus step on how to use zoom with green screen)

1. Click ^ on the Stop Video button
2. Choose Virtual Background…
3. Choose any virtual background you want. Zoom has some default images, but you can upload your own. You can also use video as a background.
4. If you have a green screen, tick the /”I have a green screen box/”.

Things to remember when using a green screen:

1. Get a green screen that’s wider than it is tall
2. If you have a Mac, I recommend using the iGlasses app
3. And most importantly, don’t wear a green shirt!
