Method 1 – Open up with Word, Excel, or Powerpoint. Look at the word /”File/” in the top left of the ribbon:
If the word file is title case /”File/” you are running either 2016 or 2010. If File, has sharp corners it is 2016. A rounded rectangle means 2010.
In Office 2013, the word file is Uppercase /”FILE/”.
In Office 2007, the Office logo is located where the word file should be.
The 2nd method is to click on File and go to Account (click Help if you don’t see Account). Click About MS Word and see what the version number is:
16 is Office 2016
15 is Office 2013
14 is Office 2010
12 is Office 2007 (they skipped 13)
