Definition. A persuasive speech is a specific type of speech in which the speaker has a goal of convincing the audience to accept his or her point of view. The speech is arranged in such a way as to hopefully cause the audience to accept all or part of the expressed view.

You can argue about what is, what should be, or how it should be. In making any of these kinds of speeches, you make specific claims that you seek to prove to your audience.

This should only take 10-15 minutes at the most. This sounds a very convoluted way of memorising an essay but it is a lot easier than it reads here. You should be able to memorise a full 500 word essay in about 3 hours, for your first time, using the above method.

3 to 4 minutes seems too long. I usually see 1-2 minutes on notices. However for me, I have two monologues still semi-memorized for years ago, it took me a couple days to memorize them I think.
