A solid having six equal square faces is called a cube.

A vertex (or node) of a graph is one of the objects that are connected together. The connections between the vertices are called edges or links. A graph with 10 vertices (or nodes) and 11 edges (links). For more information about graph vertices, see the network introduction.

A vertex can form an edge with all other vertices except by itself. So the degree of a vertex will be up to the number of vertices in the graph minus 1. This 1 is for the self-vertex as it cannot form a loop by itself….Example 1.

To analize a graph it is important to look at the degree of a vertex. One way to find the degree is to count the number of edges which has that vertx as an endpoint. An easy way to do this is to draw a circle around the vertex and count the number of edges that cross the circle.

A vertex with degree 1 is called a leaf vertex or end vertex, and the edge incident with that vertex is called a pendant edge.
