To work with flipchart files, you need ActivInspire software, which is available for Mac, Linux and Windows. Using ActivInspire requires at least Windows XP SP3, Mac Snow Leopard or Linux Ubuntu 12.04 or a newer operating system.

Can I import a PowerPoint presentation into ActivInspire?

1. Open the PowerPoint document.
2. Save the PowerPoint document as a PDF (File -> Print -> Save as PDF) on to your Desktop.
3. Open ActivInspire.
4. In the new flipchart, import the PDF file (File -> Import -> PDF).

I do know that Smart notebook works on Promethean boards and ActivInspire works on Smartboards and that both work well interactively. You can open ActivPrimary and ActivStudio flipcharts on ActivInspire and they work interactively too.

ActivInspire can be installed on Windows, Mac and Linux. If installed on a computer connected to non-Promethean hardware, our software functions as would any other piece of software installed on the computer. Installing ActivInspire will in no way change the configuration of any non-Promethean hardware.

Connect the Blue VGA cable coming from the back of the board. Connect the USB cable into an available USB port on your computer. Toggle the Screen. o Press Fn + F2 on the Methods laptops or Fn + F8 on the Dell laptops to get the image on the laptop desktop to project on both the laptop and the board.

Unfortunately for the disorganized projector owner, you are not able to turn on a Promethean projector without a remote. These units and all their functions are all operated from a Promethean specific remote control.

DO NOT use dry erase markers on the Promethean Board as this damages the delicate and intricate mechanics inside the board/screen and will most likely permanently mark the screen.
