The Wide glide has a more comfortable touring centric stock seat. The Wide Glide will also fit you better if your’re 5’10” or taller. if you’re much over 6′ the Superglide feels a bit cramped with the stock setup of seat bars and controls. You can easily upgrade to dual discs on the Superglide, not so easy on the WG.

Dyna frames are formed from tubular steel, and like the Touring, V-Rod and Sportster frames, are designed to accept twin external rear shocks, attached to a double-sided swingarm. As the middle child, the Dyna is bigger than the Sportster, but not as massive as the Touring bikes.

If the two are so similar, why are people so mad that the Dyna was discontinued? It’s because the Dyna lineup embodied the “heritage” and “character” that the Harley-Davidson brand is both praised and panned for continuing into the present day.

The FXDWG Dyna Wide Glide was introduced in the same year. These Dynas had a 28° rake and replaced the FXR Super Glide and the FXLR Low Rider Custom, which were the last FXR models in regular production. The FXDX Super Glide Sport was introduced in 1999, with improved suspension components and triple disc brakes.

Harley-Davidson quietly killed off the famous Dyna product line for 2018 without so much as an official announcement, simply merging it’s Dyna products into the new Softail platform.

The name has real meaning Harley Davidson doesn’t just choose random names for their new models out of the air. There is always a value to the name and an important meaning. The word Dyna means power.

The motorcycles of the Dyna Glide line are the performance leaders amongst Harley’s “big twins.” They combine a Sportster front end with their own unique chassis. Dyna Glides are the lightest, best handling, and most versatile of the big twins.

Dyna is a “womans” Bike.

Oh and yes the Dyna is a great first Harley. Just be safe and take it slow and easy. No need to be one of those guys who goes out and buys a bike only to wreck on it because of a lack of experience.

There has not been one issue nor inconvenience with this bike. It has been simply fabulous to own and ride. It is great around town or even on a 1000 mile trip. The only thing I really don’t like is the small front tire and fender but then again that’s what makes it a Dyna I guess.
