For most riding conditions, the recommended 10W-40 oil will be more than adequate to lubricate the ATV’s engine. As temperatures drop below 30º Fahrenheit, a thinner — less viscous — 5W-40 oil should be used to help the engine operate properly until it is warmed up to operating temperature.

We recommend to our end users to buy Valvoline 20w50 racing oil.

Replace the drain plug after draining. Refill at the dipstick to the proper level. Most small China ATVs require a half quart or so. My recommended oil weight is 15W40.

10w40 in winter and shell rotella t 15w40 in summer. Oil needs to be Jaso ma/ma2 certified. So not just regular oil. Rotella t 15w40 is certified and any motorcycle 10w40.

In reality the only big things to avoid on break in are long times of a single RPM, and excessive loading (towing/pulling/plowing large amounts of snow) that really working/heat up the machine. otherwise you can play all you want during break in. “There are no problems.

Generally, an ATV is considered “high miles” once it reaches around 10,000 miles. What’s more important, however, is how it was maintained and how the previous owner rode it. Even at 10,000 miles, if the previous owner took the time and effort to care for the ATV, there could still be a lot of life left in the vehicle.
