Modern Greek and ancient Greek are not two different languages. You can pronounce ancient greek with the modern pronunciation without any problem. Greek language until today has a lot of variety in pronunciation, grammar and vocubulary across geographic areas like lot of other languages.

In fact, our word “alphabet” comes from the first two letters of the Greek alphabet: alpha and beta! While the English alphabet has 26 letters, the Greek alphabet has 24 letters.

The word alphabet is formed from the first two letters (alpha and beta) of the Greek alphabet. Greek letters are used in mathematical notations and to some extent elsewhere. The basic Cyrillic alphabet is similar to the Greek.

The easiest way is to find a Greek letter that corresponds to the pronunciation of your Greek name. For example, if your name is “Maya,” you can use the letters Μά for “ma,” and για for “ya.” You just need to put them together and write Μάγια for “Maya.”
