Fall Weather and Temperatures in Japan Autumn in Japan comprises the months of September, October, and November. In September, temperatures tend to be around 23ºC to 28ºC (73°F to 82°F) in the afternoon and drop to about 18ºC to 21ºC (64°F to 70°F) in the morning and at night.

From mid-November to early December, the trees turn vivid hues of red, orange, and yellow. It’s this combination of cool weather and striking sights that make fall one of the most popular seasons for traveling to Japan. Most of Honshu and Kyushu rest around a pleasant 16 degrees Celsius in October and November .

Autumn is one of the most comfortable seasons in Japan. Not too hot or too cold. Here, we have the average temperature in Tokyo in these three years. If you plan to take a trip to Hokkaido or Tohoku areas, they have a little colder temperature than Tokyo, especially in November.

When is fall in Japan? Autumn in Japan is from September to November, and it’s one of the best seasons to visit the country for foliage. In some areas, the autumn colors may peak as late as late November/early December.

Peak time: On average, fall foliage peak times in the northern third of the state occur mid-September to early October. The central third of the state is most colorful between late September and early October. Southern Minnesota trees reach their peak late September to mid-October.

If you are an Autumn that means you have a warm skin tone and hair that is typically darker than medium brown. You have a lot of depth to your coloring with golden undertones including a warm undertone to your skin. Some Autumns have a high contrast coloring but not as vivid as a Winter.

Soft Autumn sits between Soft Summer and True Autumn on the seasonal flow chart. It falls at the Summer end of the Autumn palette. Consequently, the colours are softer, slightly lighter, and less warm than those of True Autumn.
