Supporting detail is additional information that explains, defines or proves the main idea. An example of a supporting detail in a story is a description of the character’s clothing. An example of supporting detail in a newspaper article are sentences that answer the questions who, what, where, when, why and how.
Use a three-step process to identify supporting details.
They help explain the main idea. Supporting details often lead you to the stated main idea also contain important information that can help you formulate the main idea when it is implied. It is useful to identify and understand supporting details because they can help you grasp the organization of a paragraph.
There are three types of anger which help shape how we react in a situation that makes us angry. These are: Passive Aggression, Open Aggression, and Assertive Anger.

The risk of a heart attack and stroke increases in the two hours following angry outbursts, especially among former heart attack patients, according to a study from the European Heart Journal. Heart attack risk increased nearly five times and stroke risk rose by three times.
Anger can motivate us to enact positive change Whilst some of the more joyful emotions tend to guide us towards the positive, anger can guide us away from the negative – which is just as important. Anger has the power to move us away from dangerous or destructive people, places or even systems or beliefs.
Some experts suggest that the average adult gets angry about once a day and annoyed or peeved about three times a day. Other anger management experts suggest that getting angry fifteen times a day is more likely a realistic average.
Common roots of anger include fear, pain, and frustration. For example, some people become angry as a fearful reaction to uncertainty, to fear of losing a job, or to fear of failure. Others become angry when they are hurt in relationships or are caused pain by close friends.
Recognizing Physiological Signs of Anger
The main idea is the central, or most important, idea in a paragraph or passage. It states the purpose and sets the direction of the paragraph or passage. • The main idea may be stated or it may be implied.
The major details are the primary points that support the main idea. Paragraphs often contain minor details as well. While the major details explain and develop the main idea, they, in turn are expanded upon the minor supporting details.
WHAT ARE THE SUPPORTING DETAILS. Anger is having a feeling of hatred towards someone or something. It is one of our basic emotions and can be most dangerous if it is not carefully controlled. A person can become angry when he cannot fulfill some basic needs or desire that is important to him.
The long-term physical effects of uncontrolled anger include increased anxiety, high blood pressure and headache. Anger can be a positive and useful emotion, if it is expressed appropriately. Long-term strategies for anger management include regular exercise, learning relaxation techniques and counselling.
