The writer goes on to define the four criteria of a good data model: “ (1) Data in a good model can be easily consumed. (2) Large data changes in a good model are scalable. (3) A good model provides predictable performance. (4)A good model can adapt to changes in requirements, but not at the expense of 1-3.”

Systems modeling or system modeling is the interdisciplinary study of the use of models to conceptualize and construct systems in business and IT development. A common type of systems modeling is function modeling, with specific techniques such as the Functional Flow Block Diagram and IDEF0.

There are three different types of data models: conceptual, logical and physical, and each has a specific purpose.

• Conceptual Data Models: High-level, static business structures and concepts.
• Logical Data Models: Entity types, data attributes and relationships between entities.

A schema is a blueprint of the database which specifies what fields will be present and what would be their types. A data model can, for example, be a relational model where the data will be organised in tables whereas the schema for this model would be the set of attributes and their corresponding domains.

Simple: This model is more simple as compared to the network and hierarchical model. Scalable: This model can be easily scaled as we can add as many rows and columns we want. Structural Independence: We can make changes in database structure without changing the way to access the data.

NoSQL database models The graph database model, which is even more flexible than a network model, allowing any node to connect with any other. The multivalue model, which breaks from the relational model by allowing attributes to contain a list of data rather than a single data point.

There are various types of database models like network model, entity-relationship model, hierarchical model, object-oriented model and object model. These all types of database models have different looks from each other and the operations performed on this type of database model are different from each other.

ACID Properties − DBMS follows the concepts of Atomicity, Consistency, Isolation, and Durability (normally shortened as ACID). These concepts are applied on transactions, which manipulate data in a database.
