Unravel isn’t a bad videogame. It has some mild charm, and it’s one of the most visually stunning things I’ve seen in a long time. It’s just unremarkable. Which is a pity, because with the clear passion that went into its development, it’s easy to picture it being so much more.

The big draw to Unravel Two is that it is primarily a game intended for co-op play. It only allows couch co-op – there is no way to play online, and you must be either in TV or tabletop mode to play co-op. If you’re in handheld mode with the Joy-Cons attached, only single player is available.

Unravel is one of the most beautiful games I’ve ever played. The natural environments like beaches and forests almost look photorealistic, thanks to the phenomenal lighting effects, depth of field, and high-quality textures.

The game focuses on two Yarnys (which can be controlled by one or two players) which must work together in order to solve puzzles and manipulate the world. The game’s main storyline is set on an island, and it includes additional, more difficult challenge levels.
