Microsoft Teams now has virtual backgrounds. There are 24 to pick from while on a video call in Teams. One of the most popular features in Zoom is virtual backgrounds. Now, Microsoft has added that ability to its own Teams collaboration app.

Steps to turn on a virtual background in Teams:
1) Start or join a Teams video meeting using the Windows or Mac application. I tested on the web app and virtual backgrounds were not available. They may be in the future.
2) Click on the three dots for more actions.
3) Select Show background effects.
4) Pick a background and either Preview or click Apply. When you are in Preview mode, other attendees in the meeting can’t see your background.
