VIEW TWO FILES SIDE BY SIDE IN NOTEPAD++: How You Can Compare Contents Of Two Files Without Plugin

Notepad++ allows you to view/edit/compare two files side by side without any plugin. For this, you will need to use ‘Move to Other View’ or ‘Clone to Other View’ feature. There are three ways you can achieve this.

1. Right click on the file tab and /”Move to other View/” or /”Clone to other View/”

2. From Menubar, View Move/Clone Current Document.

3. Drag the file tab and an Option will appear to /”Move or Clone the Document/”

COMPARING CONTENTS OF TWO FILES SIDE BY SIDE SYNCHRONOUSLY

You can use /”Synchronize Vertical/Horizontal Scrolling/” from Toolbar icons. These features allow you to compare the contents of two files since you can synchronize scrolling of two files’ content.
