IGD stands for Integrated Graphics Device, which is a built-in graphics processor on the motherboard of your computer. When you install a dedicated GPU, it becomes the primary graphics device, and the integrated graphics should be disabled to avoid conflicts.

It’s possible that your computer was still trying to use the integrated graphics even after you installed the new GPU, causing conflicts and crashes. By disabling the IGD in your BIOS, you forced your computer to use the dedicated GPU as the primary graphics device, which resolved the issue.
