Is your computer running slower than usual? A quick glance at Task Manager might reveal the culprit—WMPnetwk.exe, a process consuming excessive CPU and memory resources. Let’s fix this issue step by step.

WMPnetwk.exe is part of Windows Media Player’s network sharing service. It allows you to share media libraries with other devices over a network. However, if you don’t use this feature, it can unnecessarily hog your system resources.

Stop and Change the Service Settings
Permanently Disable WMPnetwk.exe
Uninstall Windows Media Player
Use System File Checker (sfc /scannow) to repair corrupt files.
Turn off media streaming in Windows settings.
