The chat icon comes installed but not always used. Here I show how to remove the chat icon in the windows 11 task bar easily. The chat icon is from microsoft teams so essentially you are wanting to remove the teams icon in the windows 11 task bar.

The great thing is that you can switch it back on easily if you want it back.

Please note this method hides / removes the teams chat icon from the task bar and does not uninstall the program so you can still use it at any time.
