Setting Folder Quotas on Windows Server 2012 R2

1. Preapre

– DC1 : Domain Controller ; IP 10.0.0.1

– DC18 : Domain member, File server ; IP 10.0.0.18

– WIN71 : Client ; IP 10.0.0.71

2. Step by step

– DC18 : Create new and share 2 folders on E: named Share1, Share2

– WIN71 : Logon with account pns//hiepit – map drive Z: ////10.0.0.18//Share1 , Y: ////10.0.0.18//Share2

– DC18 : Setting quota for folder Share1 on E: limit 5 GB

+ Server Manager – Manager – Add Roles and Features – Next to Server Roles – File and Storage Services –

– File and iSCSI Services – Check File Server Resource Manager – Add Features – Next – Install – Close

+ Server Manager – Tools – File Server Resource Manager – Quota Management – Right-click Quotas – Create Quota… :

+ Quota path : – Browse… – E://Share1

+ Define custom quota properties – custom Properties…

+ Description : RestrictShare

+ Limit : 5 GB

– OK – Create – Tempalate name : Restrict – OK

– WIN71 : Refresh – Check map drive Z: – 5 GB – OK
