How to wipe all data from your Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S and reset it to factory conditions. Do this before selling, or giving away your Xbox!

Before you sell or giveaway your Xbox Series X|S, you’ll want to erase all your personal data, Xbox account, and games from the console.

But don’t worry! If you have purchased games from the Microsoft/Xbox store (or redeemed codes for digital games) you will still own ALL your games.

In fact, as long as you have synced your data to your Xbox account, you’ll even keep your game progress, and Xbox settings.

If you decide to purchase another Xbox, all you need to do is login to the new Xbox with the same account, and ALL your games, account, settings, and synced game progress will be there.

After you delete all data from your Xbox, it’s also a good idea to go into your Microsoft Account, and remove the Xbox from your account.

Once you do all that, you are free to sell or give away your Xbox, and the new owner will go through the same setup process as a brand new unit.
