We teach you how to reset your Echo Dot 3rd Generation device. People have asked us how to reset Alexa and it differ between generations and devices. The Generation 3 Echo Dot device can be reset by holding down the action button for approximately 30 seconds.

To Reset Echo Dot Generation 3, do the following:
1. Make sure device is powered on
2. Hold the /”Action Button/” or button with a dot on it for 30 seconds until the orange/yellow light right appears. Keep holding for 30 seconds. Once the light ring is moving and flashing the device is starting the reset.
3. Stop pressing the action button.
4. Wait for the Echo Dot to go through it’s reset process, don’t touch anything durring this time. It can take 1-3 minutes for the device to fully go through the reset procedure. You will know when the reset has been complete as the device will say /”Your Echo Dot It Ready For Setup./” Once the device has started speaking it is ready to start being setup again on a new account or with new settings and the information has been erased durring the factory reset of the Echo Dot Generation 3.
