This Notepad++ compare plugin will help you compare two files side by side. You will be able to find the difference between the contents of two source code files, move up or down on individual differences. The Notepad++ compare plugin also allows you to find differences in modified files in GIT or SVN repositories. For example, if you want to find out the difference between the last GIT or SVN commit, you can do that.

It also allows you to customize the color settings and other basic settings using the Settings window. You can compare two files in the side views or one right next to each other. Note: Make sure to clear the comparison or else, you will see colors not being cleared. If you do compare a lot of files, I would highly recommend trying WinMerge, which is a full-fledged comparison tool.
