These are my top 5 podcasting tools! Which ones do you like?

1️⃣ Descript ️

Descript will auto transcribe your episodes, using AI, meaning MUCH LESS TYPING! In fact I copy and pasted the transcript of this video to create a caption for this post!

You can edit your audio and video within Descript using the transcription! Say you want to delete section where you’re fumbling and messing up and you have to restart. Just highlight the text, hit delete, and it’s gone! You can cross fade it in and out and add an empty space so it doesn’t sound unnatural – they have thought of everything!

2️⃣ Headliner ️

Headliner creates audiograms! Everyone’s always asking me, /”how do you make those audiograms? They’re so cool with the little sound waves can put them in your Insta feed!/” That’s Headliner!

Headliner can also give you a transcript of your short little clips, so you can create videos with karaoke style captions, with the words highlighting as the person is saying them.

3️⃣ Adobe Audition

Audition is part of the Adobe creative suite. If you’re looking for something a little bit more advanced and you already have access to Adobe creative suite, then you might want to check it out.

It has a really good denoise plugin, which is very helpful when you have a silly hum in the background. My fridge is always humming.

4️⃣ GarageBand

If you’re using a Mac, another app that I really love is called GarageBand. It’s free! You can edit your podcasts on there, you can also write music with it! It’s how I learned to record and edit audio!

5️⃣ SoundCloud

SoundCloud is where I host my podcast! SoundCloud, will take my audio file and put it out into the world into all of the different podcast apps, so I can say, /”download this podcast wherever you get your podcasts!/” And that’s how it works!

Every week I upload my episodes into SoundCloud, and it will automatically push them through to apps like Stitcher or Apple Podcasts. SoundCloud also has really good analytics and it’s very reasonable for the price. It’s about $20 bucks Canadian a month.
