It’s a new year so let’s dig into a new … portable monitor? Mobile Pixels recently reached out to me to send me their Trio Max for review. Since I often work out of my laptop and have to reference documentation alongside whatever CAD/IDE program I’m using being limited to just one monitor is a pain but setting up a second desktop consuming conventional monitor is also a pain.
That’s where Mobile Pixels’ portable monitors come in. With the Trio you can magnetically attach a second or even third LCD to your laptop lid making a formidable mobile warrior workstation. Best yet is the usb c connection delivers both power and video so there’s only one cable necessary to connect between the LCD and computer. Last but not least I can use the Trio not just for my computer but also with my Android phone or Nintendo Switch for media and gaming! Let’s see how well the Trio stacks up against these claims and where it could use some improvement.
