Microsoft Word: How To Set Up MLA Format

This is a video tutorial on how to set up a Microsoft Word document to MLA format.

0:25 1. Open a blank page in Microsoft Word.
0:30 2. Change the font to /”Times New Roman 12pt/”.
0:45 3. Click on the /”Layout/” tab and on the left side of the ribbon select the /”Margins/” dropdown and make sure its set to /”Normal/” 1 inch.
1:00 4. Select the /”Home/” tab and select /”Line And Paragraph Spacing/” dropdown and set it to /”2.0/”.
1:20 5. Double click on the top of the document to select the header of the document and select the /”Home/” tab, now select /”Align Right/” in the ribbon, now type your last name.
2:00 6. Select the /”Header & Footer/” tab and then select the /”Page Number/” dropdown in the ribbon and select /”Page Number/” and make sure the Alignment is set to /”right/” and the /”Show Number On First Page/” box is checked and click /”OK/”.
2:30 7. Double click within the body of the document to escape out of the header and type your full name and click /”Enter/
