Is AP Lang worth taking? ? The short answer: absolutely! Even Trevor Packer, the Vice President of Advanced Placement, said on Twitter in 2018 that the skills and knowledge tested on the AP Lang exam have “a very strong relationship to overall college success.”
Calculations with acid and bases are easy, but conceptual questions of titrations are a bit difficult. I’d say the hardest chapters are Thermodynamics and Electrochemistry.
When thinking about your score on the AP® Chemistry exam, you should consider it within the context of the exam. For AP® Chemistry in 2019, 55.60% of test takers received a passing score (3+). You can reference the latest 2019 student score distributions here.
AP Chemistry is definitely the toughest. It’s easily the hardest exam on the list because of it’s heavy emphasis on conceptual understanding, memorization, and math. AP Bio requires a solid foundation in biology and a holistic understanding of how these concepts connect.
Biology is hard. As a biology major I have found that there is no such thing as studying too much and that there will never be enough time in the day to study as much as you should. This has helped drastically with bio labs because each organism looks similar on a cellular level.
If you’re planning on being a science/pre-med major in college, then AP Chem is definitely worth it. It’ll help you get out of the silly introductory courses and save you a little money (assuming you get a 4/5 on the AP exam).
Definitely take AP Chemistry. College chem goes much more in depth. IMO Chemistry is harder than biology. Intro Biology is easier to make connections and requires less critical thinking.
