Navy SEAL candidates go through some of the hardest military training in the world before earning their beloved Trident. Before graduating BUD/s, they must successfully pass “drown-proofing” which is a series of swim challenges that must be completed without the use of their hands or feet — which are tied together.

In a street fight, Navy Seal would win against experienced MMA fighter, because they are trained for exact that life or death situations. If we were talking about a ring, we would almost for sure go with experienced MMA fighter.

At night during BUDS training I would average about 6 hours sleep – going to bed at 10 and waking up at 4 or so. On the weekends sleep in and try to recover. During Hell Week I may have got an hour or so between Sunday evening and Friday afternoon.

You will run at least six to 10 miles per day in BUD/S. Your legs will be punished, and those that do not prepare themselves risk stress fractures and other stress-induced injuries. You need to be able to run relatively fast, too, as there are timed runs at BUD/S, and if you fail them, you fail the course.

The Navy SEALs’ Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL training is notoriously exhausting. One military sleep manual advises special operators to use the lulls in combat to nap. “Uninterrupted sleep for as little as 10 minutes may partially recover alertness,” the Naval Health Research Center says.

The SEAL battle cry, similar to the U.S. Army “hooah,” is heard most commonly (and un-ironically) during Navy SEAL training. BUD/S trainees are expected to bellow a “hooyah” in unison throughout a typical BUD/S training day. They are also expected to use it in answer to instructors when spoken to by them.
