Windows has a feature that will allow you to have multiple virtual desktops where you can have different apps or programs on individual desktops to keep your tasks or projects separate. Then if you close a virtual desktop with apps open, they will be transferred to the other desktop without being affected. You can add virtual desktops using the Task View icon or by pressing the Windows key and Tab key together.
