How To Turn On Closed Captions On HBO Max

In this quick tech how to video, I’m going to show you how to turn closed captions either on or off on the HBO Max website or app.

This will work on any device that you’re watching on, but I’ll be showing you on the HBO Max website.

To get started, open the app or head to HBOMax.com and make sure that you’re logged into your account.

Find and start playing the movie or show you want to watch. I’ll pick a classic here.

Once the content is playing, tap anywhere to bring up the on-screen options.

Find and choose the closed captions option, and you’ll see the audio and subtitles options. Choose the available subtitle language, and then hit the x at the top right to close the menu. You’re closed caption subtitles will then appear on the screen.

And to turn them off, you would do the exact same thing, but instead, choose Off.

And that’s how you turn on or off closed captions on HBO Max.
