Antimalware Service Executable (a.k.a. MsMpEng.exe) uses a very high amount of your CPU’s resources when it shouldn’t. I made this video and used process hacker 2 to terminate MsMpEng.exe. The problem came after I updated my copy of Windows 10 on 11/28/19 with (Feature update to Windows 10, version 1909). After the update, my CPU started running extremely high and wouldn’t stop even after reading a Microsoft post that it was a part of Windows Defender performing background scans while the computer was idle. On 11/29/2019 it installed the same update again. Process Hacker 2 kept MsMpEng.exe deactivated until 12/12/2019 (more updates). Two new updates: 1) (2019/12-KB4533002 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8 for Windows 10 Version 1903 and Windows Server 1903 RTM and Windows 10, version 1909 and Windows Server, version 1909) and 2) (2019/12 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1909 for x64-based systems (KB4530684)). I’m not sure which one causes it but I’m still working on it.
