If you prefer using keyboard shortcuts, Excel also provides an efficient way to apply strikethrough formatting. After selecting the desired cells, you can press /”Ctrl/” + /”5/” on your keyboard (for Windows) or /”Command/” + /”Shift/” + /”X/” (for Mac). This shortcut toggles the strikethrough formatting on and off, making it a quick option for those who frequently need to format text in this way. Additionally, if you need to remove the strikethrough effect, simply repeat the process using the same methods.

For more advanced users, you can also apply strikethrough formatting through the Format Cells dialog box. Right-click on the selected cell or cells, and choose /”Format Cells/” from the context menu. Under the /”Font/” tab, there will be an option for /”Strikethrough./” This method allows for more customization, as you can also adjust other font properties simultaneously. Using these techniques ensures that your text is easy to read and visually appealing while indicating any changes or completed tasks within your Excel spreadsheets.
