There is a non-trivial step to reset the keyboard if there are some software problems with the keyboard.

Set the new keyboard language and place it on top as the main one. After rebooting the laptop, you can return your preferred language.

When you change the primary language of the keyboard, the keyboard will reset to factory settings.
