Open Settings: Click the Start button (Windows icon) and then the Settings icon (gear icon). You can also press the Windows Key and press the letter /”I/”.

Find Personalization: In the Settings window, locate Personalization on the left menu and click it.

Lock Screen Settings: On the right side of the Personalization window, find Lock screen and click it.

Choose Your Background: Under Personalize your lock screen, you’ll see a dropdown menu. It’s likely set to Windows Spotlight, which shows changing images.

Select a different option: Pick a single image from your computer for a static background.

Silence the Tips (Optional): Once you’ve chosen a new background type, you’ll see a toggle switch for Get fun facts, tips, tricks, and more on your lock screen. Uncheck this box to remove those messages (optional).

Under Lock Screen Status: set this to /”None/”. Then just close the Settings window.

Next time you start your computer or wake it up from sleep you won’t have all of the weather, stocks, news information. The Tips and Tricks will also be gone. Instead you’ll have a nice, quiet, clean start screen.
