Inserting rows or columns in Excel is one of the most basic and repetitive tasks you’ll need to do. Adding one is quick and easy. But what about if you need to add multiple rows or columns? What if you need to add hundreds or thousands of rows or columns?

In this video, you will learn how to insert multiple rows or columns using the basic way and using the keyboard shortcut to make it fast. And both ways are easy to do.

Steps to insert rows and columns:
1. To insert a row, hold shift and click the space bar to highlight the entire row. Right click then choose insert.
2. To insert multiple rows, just highlight as many rows as you want to be inserted, then right click and insert.
3. The same goes for inserting a column. Highlight as many columns as you want to be inserted. Hold control then hit the space bar to quickly highlight the columns. Then right click and insert.
4. Another way of inserting rows and columns is with the use of a keyboard shortcut ALT H I. This way is a lot faster.
