How to Setup Printer on a Chromebook | How to Connect a Printer to Your Chromebook

I was looking for how to use a printer to print from Chromebook video on YouTube, but most of these are outdated and not giving complete information. For example, some videos are only talking about how to print using Google Cloud Print, how to print using a USB cable, or how to print from a Chromebook when you have an old WiFi printer. 

So I made this complete how to print from Chromebook video, still keeping it simple and easy to understand.

Chromebook Printing

You can print from your Chromebook 2 ways: Wired printing and wireless printing. 

Wired Chromebook Printing

Very simple. Connect your printer via a USB cable to your Chromebook and use instructions that will pop up on the screen.  

Wireless Chromebook Printing

Here, two situations can occur. You have an old Wifi printer, which is not Google Cloud ready or you have a newer Google Cloud ready printer.

Old WiFi Printer or Classic Printer

You need to connect old classic printers that have WiFi, but not Google Cloud ready via a Chrome browser on your Windows or Mac PC computers. Open Chrome browser on Windows or Mac and follow these steps:
– Chrome settings
– Advanced
– Printing
– Google Cloud Print
– Manage Cloud Print
– Add Printer

Google Cloud Ready Printer

Sign into your Chromebook and follow these steps
– Go to lower right and click on the time and power section. You will see your account profile photo.
– Click on the wheel to go to Settings
– Advanced
– printing
– Add Printer
