You can now add your own custom virtual background for Microsoft Teams calls to make calls as professional or fun as you want. It’s easy to design your own virtual background with text, images, emojis, and any other visual elements you want, and in this tutorial we show you how. Using our free online tool, making your own Microsoft Teams virtual background only takes minutes.
(***Unfortunately, Microsoft Teams currently doesn’t support virtual backgrounds made from videos or GIFs)
There are 7 steps:
1. Open Kapwing’s Studio https://www.kapwing.com/studio
2. Upload an image or start with a blank canvas
3. Make sure the aspect ratio is “16:9”
4. Add text or images to your virtual background
5. Click /”Publish/” and wait
6. Download your virtual background
7. In a Microsoft Teams call, click “More actions” in the call toolbar → “Background effects” → “Add new”, then scroll down on the sidebar, select your background and click “Apply”
