If you have PowerPoint 2019 and you don’t see the transparency command, it means you have the standalone version of PowerPoint and not the Office 365 subscription service.

Finally….

The picture transparency command has been added as a NEW FEATURE in PowerPoint 2019.

This allows you to create a transparent image in PowerPoint without having to first put your picture into a shape like we showed in our other tutorial on YouTube.

Don’t see the command in your Ribbon, see our other video on create a transparent picture.

This has been a default feature available in the Mac version of PowerPoint, and now it’s available in the PC version of PowerPoint too.

To pull off this transparent background effect:

1. Insert a picture onto your slide
2. Picture tools format tab
3. Transparency command
4. Select one of the seven transparency options

And you are done!

If you don’t like the default background transparency options, you can set your own transparency effect in the Picture Transparency options, or you can simply remove the picture background.
