ℹTROUBLESHOOTING
NO WIFI
If you don’t have wifi after the clean install, go to your machine’s vendor’s website hooked up to wired internet, and run Windows Update. It will most likely pull in all the missing drivers. If that doesn’t work, download the support tool for your machine (Lenovo Vantage/HP Support Assistant/etc), and run the updates there. If there is no support tool available, download and install the appropriate drivers from the vendor’s website /”support/” section manually.
NO INTERNET AT ALL
If your internet doesn’t work at all after the clean install, go to your machine’s vendor’s website on another machine, and download the network drivers for your specific model. Copy them to a flash drive, and install them on your machine. Run Windows Update.
NO SOUND/MOUSE/KEYBOARD/OTHER PROBLEMS
Download the support tool for your machine (Lenovo Vantage/HP Support Assistant/etc), and run the updates there. If there is no support tool available, download and install the appropriate drivers from the vendor’s website /”support/” section manually.
ℹWHY BLOATWARE?
Computer vendors get paid if they preinstall trial versions of software on their new computers. This brings prices down for consumers while increasing profit for the vendors. Business-grade machines (HP ProBook/EiteBook, Lenovo ThinkPad, Dell XPS/Precision/Latitude, Microsoft Surface) tend to not have bloatware, or at least very little. The same goes for Apple devices.
