We fixed an HP 8022 printer which shows cartridges are missing or damaged. We quickly ruled out a failed printhead or missing printhead and focused on the FFC cable for the cartridge chip (CSIC). Upon further inspection of the cable, it looks alright. Therefore, we replaced the mainboard and fixed the cartridge reading problem. Afterward, we found the printer’s reader on the printhead carriage malfunctioning. We will reserve the replacement video for the next episode.
