Wmpnetwk.exe belongs to Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service. It is an internal system process that is responsible for developing communications between Windows Media Player and external networks. The legit OS file is located in the following folder: C://Program Files//Windows Media Player.

Disable Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service:
1. Press Win + R on your keyboard to open the Run dialog box.
2. Type services.msc in the text field and hit Enter. This will open the Services Manager window.
3. Scroll down to the Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service.
4. Then right-click on it and select Properties.

Uninstall Media Player:
1. Type Windows features in Windows search and press Enter.
2. Scroll down to find Media Features and press + to expand it.
3. Click on the checkbox to uninstall it.
4. When a warning shows up, click Yes.
5. Follow the prompts to finish the process.
6. Restart your computer and check Task Manager for improvements.

Update Audio and Network Drivers:
1. Right-click on Start and pick Device Manager.
2. Expand Sound, video and game controllers and Network adapters.
3. Right-click each device and select Update driver.
4. Choose Search automatically for drivers and install updates.
5. Restart your system and check performance.
