To Fix Spelling and Grammar Check Not Working in MS Word 2007, MS Word 2010, MS Word 2013, MS Word 2016, MS Word 2019 , here are 3 methods:
Method One:
Open the word document and click on “Review” tab. Then click on “Set Language” if you are using MS Word 2007. If you use MS Word 2010 and above, click on “Language”. Now, in the opening window, remove checkmark from the box near to “Do not check spelling or grammar”. Then click “OK”. Hit F7 key for spelling and grammar checkup.
If this way didn’t help, click on the MS Office icon in the upper left corner (if it’s MS Word 2007. If not, click on “File”, the first tab). Now click on “Word options” or “Options”. In the next window, click on Proofing and then in the right hand side, under the title “When correcting spelling and grammar in Word” put checkmarks from the following options:
Check spelling as you type.
Use contextual spelling
Mark grammar errors as you type.
Check grammar with spelling.
And also, remove check marks from the two options under title “Exceptions for:”. Then click “OK”.
Method 2:
Open the “Control Panel” – “Programs and Features” – right click on “Microsoft Office” installed in your system. Then click “Change”. In the next window, after selecting “Add or remove features” click “Continue”. In the next window, expand “Office shared features” and then click on the icon on left of the option “Proofing tools”. From the drop-down list, select “Run all from my computer” and click “Continue”. Wait till the configuration process will be completed…
Method 3:
Open Windows Registry Editor and follow below path:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Shared Tools/ Proofing Tools/ 1.0 / Override
Right click on the folder ‘Override” and delete it.
Then restart your system. After restarting your problem should be fixed..!
