I decided to investigate further. I checked the #ac unit and saw that it was running, but it was only running in the high stage. I also noticed that the furnace lid was not even closed.
I went into the crawl space and looked at the furnace. I saw that the furnace was also running, and it was running at the same time as the AC unit.
I realized that the problem was with the wiring of the thermostat. The thermostat was wired incorrectly, so it was sending signals to both the AC unit and the furnace. This was causing the furnace to run even when the AC unit was trying to cool the house.
I fixed the wiring of the thermostat, and the problem was solved. The #air that was coming out of the vents was now cold, and my home was cooling down.
Lesson Learned
This experience taught me the importance of paying attention to the wire colors when you replace your thermostat. If the wires are not wired correctly, it can cause all sorts of problems.
Here are some tips for avoiding this problem:
– Make sure that the thermostat is wired correctly.
– Have a qualified electrician install the thermostat.
– Check the wiring of the thermostat periodically to make sure that it is still correct.
By following these tips, you can help prevent this problem from happening to you.
If you are thinking about #replacing your thermostat, I recommend that you hire a qualified electrician to do the work. They will be able to wire the thermostat correctly and ensure that your #hvac system is working properly.
