#1 Bluetooth Troubleshooter
In the first method, we start with one of the built-in troubleshooters in Windows 11. Click on the Windows search icon and type in Bluetooth. Click on other troubleshooters to continue.
Next, click on the run button next to Bluetooth.
When you do this, Windows 11 tries to detect issues or bad settings in the Bluetooth application. I advise going along with what Windows offers as a possible solution.
If the troubleshooter can’t solve the Bluetooth problem, continue on to the next method.
#2 Enable Bluetooth Services Windows 11
Next, we check and change the settings of the Bluetooth services. To do this, click on the Windows search icon and type in Services.
This opens an overview of all available services on your system. A few of these are related to Bluetooth. We are going to change the settings of these Bluetooth services. Right-click on the first one, and select Properties.
First, click on the dropdown menu next to Startup type. Change it to automatic. In this same window, we see the service status. If the service is stopped, click on the Start button.
So you have to do this for all of the services that are related to Bluetooth.
Once all of the Bluetooth services are running, you can check if your Bluetooth connection is working once more.
#3 Update Drivers
In the next method, we use the Windows 11 device manager to update the Bluetooth drivers. To do this, click on the Windows search icon and type in Device Manager.
Once the Device Manager opens, you should see the option for Bluetooth. If you don’t see it, click on Action in the top menu, followed by clicking on Scan for hardware changes.
Click on the little dropdown arrow next to Bluetooth. Here, you have all of the drivers. Right-click on Bluetooth Device and select Update Driver.
We start with the first option, Search automatically for drivers.
This allows Windows 11 to search your PC and the internet for driver software. If you get the message that the best drivers are already installed, click on the Close button.
Right-click on Bluetooth Device once more and select Update driver. This time, select the second option, Browse my computer for drivers.
Click on Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer.
Here, you might have more than one option to choose from. Ideally, you choose the one that matches the most with your device.
After this, you should have successfully updated the drivers. If your connection isn’t working, and you have multiple devices in the Bluetooth section, you can repeat the previous steps for each other device.
#4 Reinstall Bluetooth Device
Next, we are going to reinstall the Bluetooth device. To do this, we stay in Device Manager. Right-click on the Bluetooth device and select uninstall.
When you uninstall the device, Windows 11 automatically reinstalls it after reboot. This should be quite fast to complete. Next, reboot your PC, after that, wait about a minute and check if you have a working Bluetooth connection once more.
#5 Advanced Sharing Settings
For the next method, we use the Control Panel. Click on the search icon and type in Control Panel. At the top right, change View by: to Category, then click on Network and Internet.
Continue by clicking on Network and Sharing Centre. After that, click on Change advanced sharing settings.
In the network discovery section, you want to make sure that you check the box next to Turn on network discovery. In the file and printer sharing section, you need to do the same for Turn on file and printer sharing if you connect to a Bluetooth printer.
#6 Windows Update
As an alternative solution, you can try installing the latest updates on Windows 11. Sometimes, this can do wonders and help you restore certain problems.
To do this, click on the Windows icon and type in Windows Update settings.
When it opens, it might be that you already have available updates to install. If so, click on the Download & install button. Otherwise, click on the Check for updates button.
