Performing a factory reset on a Microsoft Surface Pro will erase all data and settings, returning the device to its original factory state. Here’s how to do it:

Important Note:
Before proceeding with the factory reset, make sure to back up any important files and data, as the process will erase everything on your Surface Pro.

Option 1: Factory Reset from Windows Settings:

Click on the /”Start/” button (Windows logo) in the bottom-left corner of the screen.

Click on the /”Settings/” (gear-shaped) icon to open the Windows Settings.

In the Settings window, select /”Update & Security./”

In the left sidebar, choose /”Recovery./”

Under the /”Reset this PC/” section, click on /”Get started./”

You’ll see two options:
a. /”Keep my files/”: This option will remove apps and settings but keep your personal files.
b. /”Remove everything/”: This option will remove all of your personal files, apps, and settings.

Choose the desired option based on your preference. If you want a complete factory reset, select /”Remove everything./”

If prompted, enter your Windows account password to proceed.

The Surface Pro will display a warning message about data removal. Click on /”Next./”

Click on /”Reset/” to confirm and start the factory reset process.

Option 2: Factory Reset from Boot Menu (For Unresponsive Surface Pro):

Turn off your Surface Pro.

Press and hold the /”Volume Up/” button on the side of the device.

While holding the /”Volume Up/” button, press and release the /”Power/” button.

Continue holding the /”Volume Up/” button until the Surface logo appears, and the /”UEFI Firmware Settings/” screen appears.

Release the /”Volume Up/” button.

On the /”UEFI Firmware Settings/” screen, press the /”Volume Up/” or /”Volume Down/” button to navigate to /”Troubleshoot,/” and then select /”Reset this PC./”

Follow the on-screen instructions to choose either /”Keep my files/” or /”Remove everything/” and proceed with the factory reset.

Your Surface Pro will now begin the factory reset process, and it may take some time to complete. Once the reset is finished, your device will be back to its original factory settings, as if it were brand new.
