This hosts file tutorial will show you how to edit the hosts file on windows server 2016 although the process needed to edit the hosts file on windows 10 should be much the same.

In this video you will first see the location of the hosts file on windows.

C://Windows//System32//drivers//etc//

You will then edit the hosts file adding an IP address and hostname to it .

You will the save and exit the hosts file.

Finally you will test that your changes have been successful by pinging the name you set in your hosts file to insure you get a response.
